🔹 Michael Anderson (Novi, Michigan)
A high school coaching legend in Michigan and the 2024 MIGCA Coach of the Year, Anderson is making the most of his first U.S. Senior Amateur appearance. A financial advisor by day, he’s shown nerves of steel all week, including a clutch win over Tony Wise in the Round of 16.
Seed: 29 | Road: Strickland (2&1), Stimmel (2 up), Wise (3&1)
🔹 Jacobo Cestino (Spain)
The CEO of Spain’s La Zagaleta Group has proven he’s just as comfortable on the course as in the boardroom. Cestino has already claimed four national senior titles in Spain and now reaches the quarterfinals in his U.S. Senior Amateur debut after surviving a 21-hole thriller in the Round of 16.
Seed: 59 | Road: O’Keefe (2&1), Wilson (3&2), Hoops (21 holes)
🔹 Michael McCoy (Des Moines, Iowa)
The resume speaks volumes: 2013 U.S. Mid-Am champion, 2023 Walker Cup captain, and 62-time USGA participant. McCoy is once again proving why he’s one of the most decorated amateur competitors of his generation. After breezing past Rusty Strawn in the Round of 16, he’s now eyeing a second USGA title.
Seed: 12 | Road: Lohner (3&2), Sughrue (2&1), Strawn (4&3)
🔹 Bob Niger (Roseville, California)
A dominant force in Northern California senior golf, Niger has already won seven NCGA events in 2025. The 65-year-old reinstated amateur and former PGA Tour Champions competitor outlasted Juan Angel in the Round of 16 and is chasing his biggest amateur title yet.
Seed: 50 | Road: Newsom (20 holes), McConnell (1 up), Angel (2&1)
🔹 Bob Royak (Alpharetta, Georgia)
The 2019 U.S. Senior Amateur champion is back in familiar territory. Royak has had a stellar 2025 campaign with multiple runner-up finishes and arrives at Oak Hills with match play experience and purpose. His 19-hole win over Jack Larkin Sr. proved he’s battle-tested and primed for another run at the title.
Seed: 9 | Road: Roden (1 up), Brennan (5&3), Larkin Sr. (19 holes)
🔹 Greg Sanders (Anthem, Arizona)
A longtime USGA rules official and retired petroleum engineer, Sanders is proving he's just as sharp on the course. After a stellar showing at the U.S. Amateur earlier this month—where he was the oldest competitor—Sanders earned the No. 3 seed and has been rolling through match play with precision.
Seed: 3 | Road: Fisher (4&2), Pritchett (19 holes), Elliott (4&3)
🔹 Joe Sawaia (Henderson, Nevada)
A retired high school golf coach who shaped champions like Yana Wilson and Brynn Kort, Sawaia is writing his own story at Oak Hills. He made headlines with a hole-in-one during stroke play, and now, in just his second U.S. Senior Am appearance, he's three wins away from the trophy.
Seed: 42 | Road: Hall (5&3), McKeown (2&1), Mann (3&2)
🔹 Mike Sposa (Spartanburg, South Carolina)
The former PGA Tour pro and Walker Cup teammate of David Duval is finding a second act in amateur golf. Competing in his first U.S. Senior Amateur, Sposa is using deep competitive experience—and a steady short game—to carve a path through the bracket.
Seed: 48 | Road: White (2&1), Fanagan (1 up), Kemp (2&1)
