July 31–Aug 2 at Kingsley Club: The Peninsula Cup brings Mid-Am & Senior-Am four-ball teams together
Played over the firm-and-fast fescue of Kingsley Club, the Peninsula Cup is where elite amateurs come to chase honor, history, and legacy.
Some tournaments award a trophy. The Peninsula Cup offers something more: immersion in one of the country’s most respected amateur traditions — hosted on a course that feels as though it were plucked from the Highlands and planted in Northern Michigan.
The Peninsula Cup will be held July 31–August 2 at Kingsley Club. Mid-Am and Senior-Am four-ball teams can register today using the link below.
Visit Peninsula Cup PageEach year, Mid-Amateur and Senior-Amateur teams arrive at Kingsley Club for a two-man four-ball competition that blends competitive fire with deep-rooted camaraderie. This isn't just another event — it’s a gathering of elite ball-strikers, proven performers, and rising amateur voices.
The 2025 edition — running July 31 to August 2 — begins with a Thursday practice round followed by two rounds of stroke-play better-ball. The host venue? A Mike DeVries design carved into glacial landforms, with fescue fairways, bentgrass greens, and contours that demand imagination. Measuring just under 6,930 yards from the tips, Kingsley Club plays firm, fast, and exposed — where wind and creativity shape every shot.
“The Peninsula Cup is about more than just scoring — it’s about earning respect among your peers, and proving your game belongs on a national stage.”
— Kyle, Editor AmateurGolf.com
Over the years, the Peninsula Cup has drawn some of the biggest names in the Mid-Amateur scene — none more accomplished than Joseph Deraney, a two-time Canadian Mid-Amateur champion and perennial threat in national-level events. Deraney, alongside longtime playing partner Derek Meinhart, won the Trans-Miss Four-Ball in 2020 with a closing round 63 — one of the great comebacks in recent memory.
Both players have earned reputations as fierce competitors with a deep love for amateur golf, often representing the United States and competing coast to coast. Their appearances at Kingsley bring not only pedigree, but a spotlight that elevates the Cup’s stature in the national amateur calendar.
Last year’s champions, Matt and Paul Ostby, exemplify the Peninsula Cup ethos — familial chemistry, strategic grit, and consistency under pressure. Their 64–66 performance in 2024 secured the Mid-Am crown in a stacked field and reminded everyone that brotherly bonds can hold strong under fire.
They’ll return in 2025 to defend their title on the same ground where they etched their legacy — Kingsley Club’s fescue-framed corridors, where bold lines and subtle breaks define champions.
The Peninsula Cup thrives on its identity: a pure golf event where scorecards matter, camaraderie thrives, and respect is earned through performance on one of the game’s most authentic canvases. The rewards are internal — recognition among peers, pride in execution, and the satisfaction of winning on one of the toughest yet fairest layouts in the country.
To win the Peninsula Cup is to join a lineage — to leave your mark in a setting that values passion, precision, and perseverance above all.
