2007 PGA Tour rookie of the year Brandt Snedeker will be completely outfitted in Bridgestone gear for coming season
COVINGTON, Ga. (Jan. 15, 2008) – Bridgestone Golf is proud to announce that the company has expanded its relationship with Brandt Snedeker to include golf clubs in 2009.
Snedeker, who has relied on Bridgestone Golf’s TOUR B330-S golf ball since the beginning of his professional career, has decided to add Bridgestone Golf’s latest premium forged offering of clubs to his arsenal in 2009. As part of the deal, Snedeker will play Bridgestone balls and clubs, wear a Bridgestone Golf glove, sport the Bridgestone Golf logo on his headwear and carry a Bridgestone Golf Tour bag in all professional tournaments.
Snedeker, who will rely on Bridgestone Golf’s J36 Cavity Back irons (3-PW), WC Design gap wedge (52-degree), J33 3-wood (15-degree) and a Bridgestone Golf X-Drive prototype driver (9.5-degree), is expected to debut his new sticks at the FBR Open in Scottsdale, AZ the week of January 29th-February 1st.
“After having my two best performances in the Majors last season, I have a tremendous amount of confidence coming into 2009, and that is only bolstered by my new club deal with Bridgestone,” said Snedeker. “Bridgestone has always provided me with a golf ball I can count on, and I am confident that being in their clubs will provide me with more consistent performance on a shot-to-shot basis. The quality of the forgings in the irons are second to none, and the wedges provide a really great feel for shots around the green.”
In his sophomore season, the 2007 PGA TOUR Rookie of Year finished 34th in the FedEx Cup standings, made 19 of 26 cuts and recorded five top-10 finishes (2 of which were in the Masters (T3rd) and U.S. Open (T9th)).
“2008 was a milestone year for both the Bridgestone Golf brand and Brandt,” said Shigeru Nakayama, President of Bridgestone Golf, Inc. “We are excited to have Brandt as a full-staff player in 2009 and look for big things to come.”
While the financial terms of the agreement will remain undisclosed, the company is pleased to report the contract is a multi-year deal.
