Princeton freshman wins 108th Florida Amateur after dramatic playoff.
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Reed Greyserman, a rising sophomore at Princeton University, etched his name into the Florida golf history books with a clutch playoff win at the 108th Florida State Amateur Championship, held across the BallenIsles Country Club’s South and East Courses.
Greyserman, a Boca Raton native and standout freshman on Princeton’s Ivy League-winning team, posted rounds of 74-75-64-68 to finish at 7-under-par 281, tying Melbourne’s Arth Sinha after 72 holes of regulation. He secured victory on the first playoff hole, calmly carding a par to claim the title and the $750 first-place purse.
Final Round Charge
Trailing by three strokes entering the final round, Greyserman surged into contention with a near-flawless back nine on Sunday, firing a 4-under 68—his second sub-70 round of the weekend. His Saturday 64 on the East Course set the stage for a comeback, vaulting him into the final group. Over the weekend, Greyserman played his last 36 holes in 12-under-par, the lowest two-round total in the field.
Sinha, who had held a share of the lead since round two, closed with a 71 but fell just short in extra holes. Derek Busby of Palm Beach Gardens (-6) and Preston Worch of Delray Beach (-5) rounded out the top four.
Collegiate Pedigree and Tiger Momentum
The win adds to a growing résumé for Greyserman, who helped lead Princeton to the 2025 Ivy League Championship this spring and previously captured the 2024 New Jersey Amateur title. At Princeton, he contributed consistently throughout the season, including team victories at the Georgetown Invitational and Princeton Invitational, and a top finish at the USF/Howard Intercollegiate.
Greyserman has also qualified for the 2021 and 2024 U.S. Amateur Championships and competed in the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur and 2022 U.S. Four-Ball.
