Calvert City Golf & Country Club set to host one of the region’s premier amateur tournaments.

The Calvert City Golf & Country Club is once again set to host one of the region’s premier amateur tournaments: the 2025 Early Bird, taking place June 6–8. Open to amateur men seniors and super senior, the event continues its tradition of competitive golf and community engagement.

This year's tournament is attracting great players the likes of Trey Wall, Jay Nimmo, and Josh Rhodes, one of the top-ranked amateurs in Kentucky. These players will be competing at an event offering both cash payouts and valuable WAGR points.

Wall, the defending champion and winner of the Kentucky Amateur, could be a favorite after his 2nd place finish in the KGA Player of the Year in 2024. Meanwhile, Rhodes, currently considered one of Kentucky’s top amateurs, winning the 2024 KGA Points Race, is sure to be a major threat. Nimmo, recently finished his collegiate season at Murray State with a 6th place finish at the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship.
