The Oregon teens stormed through match play before capturing the title, 5-and-3, over Athena Singh and Keira Yun of Kentucky
The 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship ended with a flourish as co-medalists and Oregon teens Natalie Yen and Asia Young capped off a dominant week with a 5-and-3 victory over Kentucky’s Athena Singh and Keira Yun in the final match at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.
Yen, 18, and Young, 16, proved to be an unstoppable force from start to finish. After topping the stroke play leaderboard at 7-under, they blazed through match play with poise, precision, and plenty of firepower. Their win marked the fifth straight year that a teenage team claimed the Four-Ball title and made them just the second medalist pairing in tournament history to go on and win it all.
A Final to Remember
In Wednesday’s 18-hole final, Yen and Young wasted no time. Young's steady par on No. 1 gave them the early edge, and they never looked back. Yen dropped a key birdie on No. 4, Young followed with a tap-in birdie on No. 5, and a 30-footer on No. 6 made it three straight wins to put the match firmly in their grasp.
Despite a valiant effort from Singh and Yun — who had advanced with their own share of grit and consistency — they couldn't slow the momentum. A par win on No. 12 stretched the lead to 5 up, and after conceding their only hole at 14, the match ended at the par-3 15th where Young rolled in the birdie to clinch the championship.
“We trust each other,” said Yen. “We have different styles, but we both know we can score. That’s what carried us.”
The Road to the Title
The duo’s match play journey was filled with highlights:
Round of 32: A 2-and-1 win over 2021 champions Savannah Barber and Alexa Saldana.
Round of 16: A 6-and-4 rout of Michelle Ho and Michelle Woo.
Quarterfinals: A composed 4-and-2 win over the talented Tilma sisters.
Semifinals: A tightly contested 2-and-1 victory over California standouts Fay Jia and Cherry Zhang.
Finals: A textbook closeout against Singh and Yun.
In all, they never trailed in a single match.
Silver Linings and Lasting Legacies
Singh and Yun’s runner-up finish earns them a three-year exemption into future Four-Ball Championships — a prize they celebrated with perspective and gratitude.
“I couldn’t ask for a better partner,” said Yun. “I’m so proud of how far we made it.”
Semifinalists Jia/Zhang and Dovhey/Dyer also walked away with exemptions and bronze medals, capping impressive runs.
As champions, Yen and Young will receive gold medals, a 10-year Four-Ball exemption (as long as the side remains intact), and spots in both the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes and the U.S. Girls’ Junior at Atlanta Athletic Club. Their names will also be etched into USGA history — literally — on the plaque in the Hall of Champions in Liberty Corner, N.J.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 edition of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball will be held at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina. With many of this year’s top teams eligible to return, including all four semifinal sides, the future of the championship — and women’s amateur golf — looks bright.
