Jase Summy of Oklahoma, Texas lead Valspar Collegiate heading into final round

David Ford, Luke Clanton and Jackson Koivun all chase Summy in the individual competition with 18 holes left
Jase Summy shot impressive rounds of 65-64 with just one bogey to finish the first two rounds of the 2025 Valspar Collegiate at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., 13-under and hold a two-shot lead in the individual competition.
Summy carded 14 birdies in 36 holes, including on holes No. 3 through 6 in the second round, to propel to the top of the leaderboard.
David Ford of North Carolina and Daniel Bennett of Texas are T2 at 11-under and two shots back of Summy with 18 holes remaining.
Kelly Chinn of Duke is in solo fourth place at 8-under, and Luke Clanton of Florida State and Jack Gilbert of Texas are T5 at 7-under. Clanton is currently ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings and won the 2024 Valspar Collegiate. He recently earned his PGA Tour card through the PGA Tour University Accelerated Program.

In the team competition, The No. 2 ranked Texas Longhorns continue to play well, carding rounds of 271-272 to get to 25-under and lead the talented field by eight shots heading into the final round.
Arizona State is in solo second place at 17-under, and Oklahoma is in solo third place at 13-under.
12 of the top 20 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings are in the field.
Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt is notably absent from the field. Brentley Romine of the Golf Channel first reported this, which was confirmed after the pairings and tee times were released.
The Floridian, designed by Gary Player in 1996, was the private course of Wayne Huizenga and was recently sold to Jim Crane. The course has been redesigned by Tom Fazio, with a re- opening in November of 2011. Butch Harmon has signed on to build a Harmon Golf School at the Floridian.
