ECU Intercollegiate: Central Florida cruises to victory with 12-shot margin

Eastern Carolina sophomore Nathan O'Neal won the individual title by four shots
The University of Central Florida men’s golf team put together a dominant performance at the ECU Intercollegiate, finishing 12 shots clear of the field at 8-over. UCF posted rounds of 284-296-292 at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina, to claim the team title.
Tournament host East Carolina finished runner-up at 20-over after rounds of 294-294-296.
UCF entered the final round with an eight-shot lead and never looked back, closing with a 292—the lowest team round of the day by four strokes—to secure the victory.
Individually, ECU sophomore Nathan O’Neal led from start to finish, carding rounds of 69-68-74 to win the title by four shots. He started the final round with a five-shot lead and, despite a 74, never faced a serious challenge. The day’s lowest score, a 70, came from his teammate Philip Bondestad and Temple’s Jake Naese, but they were too far back to threaten his lead.
Auburn junior Reed Lotter, playing as an individual, posted rounds of 76-67-72 to finish runner-up at 1-under.
UCF junior Clemente Silva of Chile led the way for the Knights, finishing T-5 at 1-over with rounds of 71-75-71. The entire UCF lineup finished inside the top 20, highlighting the team’s depth. Redshirt junior Gustav Andersson of Sweden and junior Chase Haygood both finished T-13 at 4-over.
Sophomore Hans Risvaer, last year’s individual champion, finished T-16 at 5-over alongside redshirt junior Jakob Satavang Stubhaug of Norway, who competed as an individual. Junior Lucas Dutarte of France rounded out UCF’s strong showing with a T-19 finish at 6-over.
Statistically, UCF recorded 45 birdies over the three rounds, nine more than any other team. Columbia and East Carolina followed with 36 apiece. The Knights were particularly strong on par-4s, finishing at 14-over, well ahead of East Carolina, which ranked second at 38-over.
