Hollenbaugh repeated as the individual champion while Ohio State and Michigan State shared the team title
Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh is starting off 2025 in the best way possible.
Hollenbaugh carded consistent rounds of 69-69-69 to finish 9-under and win the 2025 Spartan Sun Coast Invitational at Palm Aire Country Club of Sarasota, the Champions Course, in Sarasota, Fla., by four shots over the field.
Hollenbaugh has now shot six straight rounds in the 60s to start the spring season. This is her third collegiate victory; she won the Spartan Suncoast Invitational in 2024 and opened the 2025 spring season with a victory at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. She also won the 2024 and 2025 SALLY.
According to Ohio State Athletics, among the field of 81 players, Hollenbaugh shot best on par 4s; she was four-under. Her 13 birdies were tied for second-most.
Hollenbaugh is currently ranked No. 14 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.

Nicha Kanpai of Maryland finished in solo second place at 5-under and Cathryn Brown of Kentucky and Mara Janess of Michigan finished T3 at 4-under. Emma Schimpf of Charleston, MaKayla Tyrrell of Oklahoma, and Audrey Rischer of Oklahoma finished T5 at 3-under to round out the top five.
In the team competition, Ohio State and host school Michigan State finished 4-under to share the team title.
The Buckeyes carded rounds of 285-291-284, while the Spartans carded rounds of 297-287-276 to secure the comeback win.
Oklahoma finished in solo third place at 3-under and just one shot back of the winner. Charleston finished in solo fourth place at 1-over, and Michigan finished in solo fifth place at 5-over.
