St. Andrews Collegiate: Northwestern men, Arizona women win medal match play

Arizona's Zach Pollo won the men's stroke play portion, while Ashley Yun of Northwestern won the women's stroke play
The Northwestern men and Arizona women took the first-place medals home from the 2024 St. Andrews Links Collegiate at the Old Course in Scotland.
In both match play finals, it was a showdown of Wildcats, with the Northwestern men defeating the Arizona men 4.5-1.5 and the Arizona women defeating the Northwestern women 4.5-1.5.
For Northwestern, Cameron Adam, Daniel Svard, Niall Shiels-Donegan, and Akshay Anand earned four solo points. For Arizona, Charlotte Back, Lilas Pinthier, and Nena Wongthanavimok earned three solo points.
Archie Finnie earned a half point for Northwestern, and Caroline Melgrati, Julie Misemer, and Maria Cabanillas earned half points for Arizona. Both stroke play champions, Zach Pollo of Arizona and Ashley Yun of Northwestern, lost their respective matches.

Started in 2023, this three-day event will feature men’s and women’s golf teams from four U.S. universities with two days of stroke play on the Jubilee Course followed by a day of medal match play on the Old Course at St. Andrews.
