Maricocchi shot a final round 3-under 68 to win by five shots and was the only golfer to finish even par or better
After an impressive 3-under 68 to close the tournament, Domenic Maricocchi finished at even par to win the Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship at Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio, by five shots.
Maricocchi carded rounds of 71-74-68 to get to even par. In the final round, he started 4-under through the first seven holes, birdieing holes No. 5, 6, and 7 consecutively. He recorded three bogeys on the back nine but had a large enough lead to hang on for the comfortable win.
Jeg Coughlin finished in solo second place at 5-over, and Austin Beyers finished in solo third place at 6-over.
Maricocchi has put together an impressive 2024, winning the Ohio Mid-Amateur and earning medalist honors at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying, where he will tee it up at Kinloch Golf Club next month.
