Dumdumaya overcame a two-shot deficit and carded a tournament low 5-under 67 to claim the title by six strokes
USC freshman Jaden Dumdumaya from Fairfield, Calif., delivered a commanding performance to secure a six-stroke victory at the Fairfield City Championship, finishing with a 7-under 137.
Dumdumaya posted rounds of 70 and a tournament-best 5-under 67 to claim the title. Scott Bubany from Rocklin, Calif., who led after the first round with a 4-under 68, shot a final-round 75 to finish as the runner-up at 1-under par.
Dumdumaya holds the record for most wins on the Junior Tour of California, surpassing notable names such as two-time U.S. Open champion and current LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau, as well as former Trojan Justin Suh.
The championship flight featured 51 amateur participants.
In the Seniors Flight, Anthony Vaccaro from Fairfax and Bobby Pereiera from Vallejo both finished at even-par 144, with Vaccaro ultimately securing the title in a playoff after rounds of 70-74, while Pereiera posted consistent rounds of 72-72.
About the Fairfield City Amateur
Two day stroke play event for men, seniors, super seniors and women. Must be 18 years of age or older. The first round will be at Rancho Solano, the second at Paradise Valley.
