The San Francisco native Goode won the fifth annual amateur by five shots at 9-under
Jacob Goode of San Francisco, Calif., won the 5th Silverado Amateur after finishing 9-under and carding rounds of 68-66-73 to win by five shots.
Goode’s first two rounds of 4-under 68 and 6-under 66 allowed him to take a five-shot lead into the final round. A final-round 1-over 73 was solid enough for Goode to maintain that lead.
Matthew Wilkinson of Denver, Colo., finished in second place at 4-under, with Brian Ma of Milpitas, Calif., finishing in solo third place at 3-under. Brandon Knight of Pleasanton, Calif., and 2024-25 Troon Saguaro Amateur Series Player of the Year leader Ethan Korock of Jonestown, Tex., finished 2-under and T4.
“Put really well and got off to a really good start yesterday," Goode told the Silverado Amateur. "I had 52 putts in two rounds yesterday, which is really, really good. Today was a bit more difficult. I caught a tree root on (hole No. 6), and it took me a couple to get out of that. The golf course is great and it feels really good to come out on top. I played the last two out of three (holes) really well.”
Silverado has long been a host site for many of the best golf competitions. It currently hosts the PGA Tour’s Fortinet Championship and is also the annual host of the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series’ Grapevine and Silverado Amateurs.
The Troon Saguaro Amateur Series, founded in 2017, is a world-ranked amateur tournament series that will host 10 tournaments in the 2024-25 season. This is the fifth year of the Silverado Amateur, all on the North Course. The Silverado Amateur is the third event in the 2024-25 Series year and the final event of the summer swing. Costas Panay was the 2023-24 Player of the Year. Our next event will be the Desert Amateur on November 18-19 in Phoenix.
