World Golf Competition to offer an unparalleled experience to amateur golfers

Starting soon in 2025, the WGC asks you to join an event that no one will want to miss
The World Golf Competition (WGC) has embarked on something big in the amateur golf space. Unlike anything you’ve seen before at an unrivaled scope, the WGC is calling all amateur golfers to join an event that promises not just competitive play but an unforgettable adventure across the globe. The kicker: the prize pool for this journey: a whopping $5 million USD.
Starting in 2025, this groundbreaking venture will feature 13,000 participants battling it out in more than 300 satellite tournaments.
Open to men, women, and all-abilities players, Amateurs from all walks of life play across 200 iconic courses in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, including prestigious venues like TPC Sawgrass, Pebble Beach Golf Links, and Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
A single-entry fee of $4,500 covers all phases, meaning you will receive five-star treatment continuously as you advance. Not only will your travel and accommodations be sorted, but you’ll also enjoy fine dining and access to the most revered courses worldwide.
Forbes Magazine gave insight into the new ventures’ ability to streamline the experience through corporate travel experts, Corporate Traveler.
“One of the industry’s leading business travel companies is a partner (and official travel manager) in the first-of-its-kind event, as Corporate Traveler will coordinate travel plans for all registered qualifiers. While this is Corporate Traveler’s foray into golf, the company has been a trusted travel partner for pro sports teams such as the New York Mets, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, New York Islanders, and more."
The competition format is designed uniquely, starting from the opening round in one of the 16 zones globally, with hundreds of Round 1 events in the USA.
All rounds leading into the World Final are played using a unique 1 vs 3 format where, to progress, all you do is beat the other three players in your playing group. Scoring is handicap stableford, playing groups are handicap seeded and WGC have a strong handicap verification process.
Each round also includes bonus progression places. Players of all handicaps can enter; however, the max they will play under in the event is 20.0. Perhaps a nod to the former World Golf Championships group stages. You can envision your journey on their website based on your local time zone.
If you progress from local zones to the grand stage, you’ll be awarded a spot in the World Final at Punta Espada GC in the Dominican Republic. The format then changes to a 36-hole handicapped stroke play.
WGC co-founder Jon Kerr envisions this as more than a golf tournament. It’s a celebration of the golfing lifestyle. As an amateur, this is your chance to step into the shoes of a pro golfer, enjoy luxurious amenities, and play the courses you've dreamed of…and become World Champion!
Don’t miss out on this bucket-list opportunity. Whether you're looking to elevate your game, experience the pinnacle of amateur golf, or simply have the adventure of a lifetime, the World Golf Competition is your platform to shine.
