The Florida State sophomore is halfway through the third round as play was suspended due to weather
Weather affected the third round of the Chevron Championship, and Florida State sophomore Lottie Woad only got through 13 holes before play was suspended.
Woad is currently 4-under and is even through 13 holes of her third round. She shot rounds of 71-69 to get to 4-under and comfortably make the cut. Woad is T20 and seven shots back of the leader Atthaya Thitikul, who is in the solo lead at 11-under.
Jasmine Koo is the other amateur who made the cut, and she is 2-under and T31. Koo finished her third-round, shooting a round of 2-under 70. She has carded rounds of 74-70-70.
SECOND ROUND RECAP
Just two weeks after winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, Lottie Woad has found herself in the thick of things in The Chevron Championship, her first professional major championship. She is currently 4-under and T10, just four shots off the lead.
After shooting a 1-under 71 in the opening round of her first professional major, the Florida State sophomore from England was even more comfortable at Carlton Woods on Friday. She tallied five birdies during her round. True to form, Woad was outstanding with her irons, hitting 15 greens on Friday.
"It's definitely been a whirlwind. I didn't really have a chance to let Augusta sink in," Woad said on Friday. I was just coming here straightaway. I obviously took a lot of confidence from Augusta, so just trying to use that for this week."

At one point in her round, Woad was just a shot off the lead, but Nelly Korda reached 7-under, three shots better than Woad after 36 holes.
Woad learned some valuable lessons in the last couple of weeks.
"I think getting used to having to aim away from the pins because you definitely had to do that at Augusta and there's certain pins you can definitely not go at, and the same here, so getting used to moving my target and not just going at the pins, which you can do in college. You can just go at every pin, and usually, the greens are pretty soft."
Woad has completed the first goal of the week - making the cut. She is currently ranked No. 3 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.
"I'm feeling good. I'm playing well. I would probably grade it pretty highly. I was trying to make sure I made the weekend. That was kind of my aim for this week," Woad said. "I didn't know what position exactly, but I'm in a good position now, so I am just going to keep trying to move up."
