The 2023 AJGA Player of the Year is 6-under for his round and currently in contention in his KFT debut
Miles Russell has captivated the golf world this week with his play at the LECOM Suncoast Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour. Russell became the youngest player ever to make the cut.
Now, in his Sunday round, he is 6-under through 13 holes and 15-under for the week, only four shots back of leader Patrick Cover.
Russell shot rounds of 68-66-70 to get to 9-under and has been under par for all three of his rounds.

SECOND ROUND RECAP
After shooting an impressive 3-under 68 in the opening round in the Korn Ferry Tour's LECOM Suncoast Classic, 15-year-old Miles Russell backed it up with a 5-under 66 with two eagles to become the youngest player ever to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour.
And he did it with ease.
The cut fell at 5-under, a full three shots clear of Russell, who is T26 and 8-under.
He was 4-under on the front nine, with eagles on Nos. 4 and 9. He birdied holes No. 10 and 11 and bogeyed No. 13 to get to 5-under for the day.
This is not the first time Russell has been the youngest to accomplish something.
Russell was named AJGA Boys Division Player of the Year one day after his 15th birthday. Woods was previously the youngest player at 15 years, 10 months, and 2 days when he was honored in 1991. Both Russell and Woods are the only male players to win the award at age 15.
FIRST ROUND RECAP
It would have been a fair assumption to think 15-year-old Miles Russell would get off to a slow start in the Korn Ferry Tour's LECOM Suncoast Classic. Instead, Russell made four birdies in his first five holes at Lakewood Ranch en route to an opening round of 3-under-par 68.
The opening nine score of 31 seems like a sign of things to come from the immensely talented high school freshman.
Before the round, Russell, who lives in Jacksonville, Florida, was confident and hopeful.
"Hopefully, I play well, and I can see how my game stacks up against the best," Russell said.
It stacks up quite nicely.
Russell started his round on the tenth hole and notched birdies on hole Nos. 10, 12, 13, 14. He'd card one more birdie on the day at the par-4 fourth hole. The 2023 AGJA Player of the Year would make just two bogeys, both on his back nine.
Over the course of the round, Russell hit 11 greens in regulation. He showed off his short game, scrambling for par six out of the seven times he missed the green. He drove the ball well, hitting nine of 13 fairways.
While the field is wrapping up the first round, Russell is currently T31 and is well within his rights to wake up tomorrow with the expectation to make the cut, something he hoped he would be able to do earlier in the week.
"I don’t know what to expect, but I’d love to make the cut and who knows, maybe have a good weekend and see where it puts me,” Russell told the PGA Tour this week.
