Potgieter recently won his first pro event at the KFT's Bahamas Great Abaco Classic
19-year-old Aldrich Potgieter recorded ten birdies, an eagle, and a bogey en route to an 11-under 59 in the second round of the Astara Golf Championship at the Pacos Course at Country Club de Bogata in Colombia.
Potgieter went out in a blazing 7-under 28 and added five birdies on the back nine, including on Holes No. 16, 17, and 18, to close out his round and secure the 59.
He is currently leading the tournament through the halfway point at 16-under after a first-round 5-under 65. His second-round score propelled him from T22 to solo first place.
The Pacos Course is the shortest on the Korn Ferry Tour, playing at 6,254 yards. In the first round, Cristobal Del Solar became the first golfer to shoot a 57 in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. Del Solar's 57 was the first sub-60 round recorded on the course.
The 2022 British amateur champion has wasted no time making his mark on professional golf after winning the KFT's Bahamas Great Abaco Classic two weeks ago and has now shot the tenth sub-60 round in Korn Ferry Tour history.
