Florida Winter Series: Troy Vannucci dominates to win in Ocala

Vannucci, the 2023 New Jersey Men's Player of the Year, ran away from the field to win by eight shots

Troy Vannucci, 32, a project manager for the American Athletic Track & Turf, shot 3-over 147 to register a dominating win by an eight stroke margin over the field in the Mid-Am section of the Florida Winter Series at CC of Ocala in Ocala, FL.

Zackery Luce of Crescent City shot rounds of 78-77 to register a runner-up finish at 11-over par.

In the 2nd Flight, Mark Allen of St. Petersburg shot rounds of 83-79 to win the category at 18-over par.

Vannucci, is an accomplished amateur golfer, who has won the winner of the 2022 GAP Mid-Am Championship, was named the 2023 New Jersey Men’s Player of the Year, and won back to back recognition as the William Hyndman, III Player of the Year for 2022 and 2023 by GAP, the Golf Association of Philadelphia.

Vannucci has also qualified and competed in the U.S. Mid-Am and U.S. Four Ball Championships.

In the Senior section, Chad Ibbotson from Sanford, FL, shot a 2-over 146, matching Bruce Sands of Fort Myers and initiating a playoff that he won on the first extra hole. Prior to the playoff, both Ibbotson and Sands carded identical consecutive rounds of 73.

In the 2nd Flight, Tyler Jose from Valrico, emerged the winner by a shot after carding rounds of 82-78 for a total score of 16-over par.

In the Super-Senior section, David Tassell from Jupiter, FL, carded rounds of 75-75 to win by a two-shot margin at 6-over.

In the Super-Senior 2nd Flight, Dennis Bush of Lakewood Ranch emerged winner with rounds of 82-76 for a total score of 14-over par.
