Jacques Wilson, a Charleston Southern graduate, shot an even-par 144 to win the 28th Annual Tournament of Champions at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Wilson began his campaign with a 76, trailing Danielle Ezelle by five strokes. On the other hand, Ezelle secured the lead with an opening round of 71. The following day, Wilson encountered an early setback with a bogey. However, undeterred by this, he persevered and managed to accumulate five birdies, concluding with a tournament low of 4-under 68. This impressive performance allowed him to emerge as the winner with a three-shot margin over William Ovenden of Mount Pleasant and Walt Todd Jr. of Greenville, SC.
Ovenden carded rounds of 73-74, and Todd added rounds of 75-72 to register a joint runner-up finish in the tournament. Opening round leader, Ezelle, added a second round of 84 to finish 11th at a total score of 11-over par.View results for South Carolina Tournament of Champions
