The team of Lolande and Comeau shot 1-under to finish at the top of the leaderboard
Donna Lalonde and Diane Comeau, the team from Desert Hills Municipal Golf Course in Yuma, Ariz., clinched the overall title at the Arizona Women’s State Medallion. They shot an impressive combined score of 1-under during the competition held at Oakwood Golf Club in Sun Lakes, Ariz.
Lalonde, the President of the Desert Hills Women’s Club, carded a 78, while Comeau, the Tournament Chairman at the same club, initially carded a 90. However, her score was later adjusted to 65 based on her handicap of 25 in the Gross format. This adjustment contributed to the team's total of 143, securing them the title.
The 18-hole tournament spanned two days, featuring 90 teams divided into eight different flights to compete in a gross scoring format.
The team of Kim Eaton and Bonnie Brost from Apache Wells CC in Mesa, Ariz., finished as the overall runner-up in the tournament with a score of 1-over 145. Additionally, each of the eight flights declared its own winners for each day of the tournament.
