La Costa Resort Golf Course
After the great year that 2023 was, it will be hard for 2024 to live up to expectations. However, as we know, every year, something will happen that will turn our heads and make us remember the year.
So, what will that be? The staff at AmateurGolf.com picked one thing they are excited to watch or want to see happen this year.

I am always excited to see the Amateurs tackle Augusta National, specifically Nick Dunlap, this season.

The NCAA Men's and Women's DI Championships are being played at La Costa Resort, in the hometown of AmateurGolf.com and the golf industry -- Carlsbad, California. Gil Hanse is wrapping up a remodel of the Champions Course, and on a recent tour, it looked ready to play except for the fine points. La Costa has a rich professional golf history and now has a chance to shine on the national stage again. I'm hoping that San Diegans will come out in force to see the future of the game up close. I know I will.

The Elite Amateur Series is heading into its third year in 2024. It’s time for some serious movement to happen on the women’s side of things. They deserve the same chance to have a set of events that offer professional exemptions that they can set their summer schedule around. The college talent is there in the women’s game, and there should be more of a stage for it to shine.

To see if the upcoming change in the U.S. Amateur qualifying format makes qualifying easier or harder.

I am excited to see if Georgia Tech standout Christo Lamprecht can win the Silver Cup for finishing as the low amateur at The Masters.
