After a two-hole playoff, Jordan Wessels of Mooinooi Golf Club secured the win and claimed the Bobby Locke trophy for a second time at Parkview Golf Club in Randburg, South Africa.
Wessels carded rounds of 69-70-73, achieving parity with Vlan Jansen van Vuuren from Centurion Country Club, whose rounds of 74-69-69 culminated in an identical 54-hole total of 4-under, setting the stage for a playoff.
Following a gripping two-hole showdown, Wessels secured the tournament championship, marking his triumphant comeback and solidifying his unique status as the sole player in history to claim the title twice. His previous triumph with the trophy dates back to 2021.
Heading into the final round, Wessels commanded a three-shot lead over the field, boasting rounds of 69-70 for a 5-under. Stewart Chitambo trailed behind, having posted consecutive rounds of 71-71, standing three strokes back at 2-under 142 overnight.
Wessels, in the final round, carded a 1-over 73 marked by four birdies and five bogeys. However, Vuuren, with a final round of 3-under 69 featuring seven birdies and four bogeys, swiftly closed the gap, matching Wessels and prompting a playoff.
Nash de Klerk and Ruben van der Berg posted matching totals of 2-under 214 to register a tied-3rd finish in the tournament.
The tournament saw participation from 147 players, with 62 making the 36-hole cut. While the majority hailed from South Africa, there was representation from neighboring countries such as Zimbabwe, Namibia, Ghana, Swaziland, Zambia, and Seychelles.
