Blades Brown of Nashville, Tenn., has had one of the best summers of anyone on the golf course, and now he can add to his resume.

Brown shot a final round 6-under 64 to propel to the top of the leaderboard and overtake Tyler Watts of Huntsville, Ala., by one shot to win The Elite Invitational at Tradition Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Brown finished 10-under, while Watts finished at 9-under.

Brown made four straight birdies on Holes No. 10-13 to jump into the top spot on the leaderboard. In his final round, he made seven birdies and one bogey.

Brown was consistent all week, shooting rounds of 67-69-64 to finish 10-under at the par-70.

Jackson Herrington of Dickson, Tenn., finished in solo third place at 6-under.

Brown won the AJGA Junior Invitational, the Huntsville.org Junior Invitational, the Wyndham Invitational, and the Tennessee Junior Amateur.

He finished third at the North and South Junior Amateur and fifth at the Tennessee State Open as the low amateur.

Earlier in the summer, Brown became the youngest medalist in U.S. Amateur history.

In the girl's competition, Bridget Wilkie of Bluffton, S.C., and Michelle Xing of Ontario, Can., finished in a tie for first place at 8-under, and Wilkie won on the first playoff hole, putting her approach shot to eight feet and sinking the birdie putt for the win.

ABOUT THE The Elite Invitational

This 54-hole stroke play championship was founded to give young golfers the ability to showcase their skills in an environment comparable to a high-level tournament they will play in college or at the professional level. Our unique format, where the field is selected based on graduating year instead of age, exposes the players to a different set of challenges than any other junior tournament.
