Dillon Germshuys of Walmer Golf Club shot 2-under 139 to win the Eastern Province Stroke Play Championship at Wedgewood Golf Club in Gqeberha, South Africa.

Germshuys clinched the title with back-to-back rounds of 70, narrowly edging out a trio of competitors, which included Altin van der Merwe from Bellville Golf Club, Naldo Claassen from Walmer Golf Club, and Johndre Ludick from Graaff-Reinet Golf Club. These three golfers ended up T2, all carding a total score of 1-under 141, just one shot behind Germshuys.

As the final round commenced, Germshuys found himself in a tie for the lead with Dehan Joubert from Kirkwood Golf Club, both holding steady at 1-under 70. Simultaneously, Ludick followed closely, trailing by just one stroke at even-par 71.

Germshuys preserved a flawless round in the final leg, punctuating his performance with a critical birdie on No. 11, thus securing his second Eastern Province title since 2018.

Merwe, on the other hand, had the standout score of the day, carding a remarkable 6-under 65, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 No. 4, as well as five additional birdies and a lone bogey on the par-4 No. 6.

This stretch elevated Merwe to a joint runner-up finish, following a challenging 5-over 76 in the first round.

The tournament featured 67 top amateur golfers from across South Africa but had to be shortened to 36 holes due to unfavorable weather conditions.
