Stockton Pacific Invite: Grand Canyon wins by eight shots

Tegan Andrews of Cal State Fullerton fired a final round 9-under 63 to capture the individual title.
The Grand Canyon men's team, consisting of Tommasso Zorzetto, Nicky King, Matthew Pennington, Gavin O'Neill, and Warner Beach, shot 37-under 827 with their rounds of 275-278 to register a win by eight strokes over Loyola Marymount to successfully defend their title at Visit Stockton Pacific Invite at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, Calif.
GCU entered the final round in a share of the lead with Loyola Marymount at 23-under par and added a final-round total of 14-under, the lowest among the teams in the field to repeat their 2022 heroics in impressive fashion.
Utah and Washington State finished tied for third at 28-under 836.
In the individual competition, Tegan Andrews, a senior at Cal State Fullerton, shot 14-under with rounds of 71-68-63 to win the title by one shot over the duo of Preston Bebich of Washington State and Luke Dugger of Sacramento State, who finished runners-up at 13-under.
Entering the final round, Andrews was tied for 14th place with a score of 5-under, trailing Dugger and Tommasso Gerogetto of GCU by seven strokes.
Both Dugger and Gerogetto held the 36-hole lead at 12-under.
Andrews started his final round with consecutive birdies on the first two holes and added another on No. 6, keeping his scorecard clean of any errors on the front nine.
It was on the back nine where he truly caught fire, delivering two eagles on No. 11 and 16, as well as three birdies.
Andrews made a bogey on hole No. 17 as his only blemish of the day. Andrews concluded with a final round of 9-under 63, the tournament's lowest, securing the individual trophy.
