USF Intercollegiate: Riley Lewis sprints away from the field to win by eight shots

After winning the first tournament of the season, Loyola Marymount has now won both of its tournaments to open the season.

The Loyola Marymount Junior won the 2023 USF-Howard Intercollegiate at TPC Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Calif., by eight shots, shooting an amazing 19-under after a blistering 10-under 62 in the final round.
Lewis entered the final round tied with JP Odland of Santa Clara at 9-under and made sure to keep the dramatics away, birding four of his first five holes and shooting a 30 on the front nine.
He recorded eight birdies and an eagle during his bogey-free final round.
Odland finished T7 after a two-over 74 in the final round.
The 62 from Lewis was the lowest round of the tournament by five shots.
Jakob Melin of San Francisco finished in solo second place at 11-under. Melin shot rounds of 69-67-69 to shoot 11-under.
Jet Hernandez of the University of Denver and Benjamin Partridge of San Francisco finished T3 at 9-under.
Loyola Marymount won the team competition by a large margin, shooting 38-under and defeating the second-place finisher San Francisco by 14 shots. San Francisco shot 24-under.
UC Davis finished in third place at 17-under.
Loyola Marymount also won the Golfweek Fall Challenge to start the season by shooting 47-under to defeat Washington State by one shot.
