Cobra's Aerojet Driver Takes Off With New Tech Aboard

Power Bridge Technology is the brand's newest update and it could redefine what we know as a Cobra driver.
Every so often a golf club model comes along and you know instantaneously that you want to demo it based on the name alone. For 2023, that best describes (at face value) the Cobra Aerojet. The driver from the Aerojet family isn’t just a big stick with a flashy name, however. It walks the walk with the support of some serious R&D improvements from the Cobra team that has the likes of Rickie Fowler and Gary Woodland singing its praises.
While attending the 2023 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, we had the opportunity to learn about the new Aerojet driver from none other than Jose Miraflor, Vice President of Marketing for COBRA PUMA. Jose schooled us on why Cobra is so excited about Aerojet and also why it lives up to its tagline, “Faster by Design.” Check out the video below.
“The name speaks of aerodynamics, that’s the first thing we put into this product line,” said Miraflor. “We made the shape more streamlined, like an airplane wing, to make it easier for the golfer to swing the same and get more clubhead speed.”
If you’re a fan of Cobra’s products like we are, the Aerojet is going to be unlike anything you’ve hit from the Carlsbad company which was founded in 1973, and celebrating it's 50 year anniversary this year.

There’s a feeling that Cobra’s previous driver model, the LTD, walked so that the Aerojet could run. The LTD was a great driver, but the Aerojet is a bona fide advancement year over year. The face pops as much as any 2023 driver we’ve played and our ball speed numbers were up there with the best results.
Perhaps the most advanced piece of technology that exists with the Aerojet comes from within. As Miraflor explains, Cobra took weighting to an entirely new level.
“We created a technology inside that’s called Power Bridge Weighting,” he said. “Inside of the head, close to the face, is a 13-gram bridge that makes you get more ball speed. And it’s positioned low in the head so you get less spin.”
The innovative Power Bridge Technology is built into all three sub-models of the Aerojet driver family. Let’s take a look at how each is different.
Aerojet LS
The Aerojet LS is the brand’s low-spin model. While not made for the masses, the better player should consider the LS simply based on its “aim small, miss small” construction. There’s a reason Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson, and Gary Woodland game this particular model. It’s what the best players in the world require.

Aerojet Max

There is also an element to this model that can create a maximum draw scenario simply by moving weights if that’s your preferred shot shape.
