San Antonio duo finishes at 21-under for a three-stroke victory at The Club at Comanche Trace
Bulverde’s Will Dusenbury and Austin’s Curtis Donahoe finished as the runner-ups after a valiant Sunday effort of 8-under 64. The teammates finished three strokes back of the champions at 18-under 198 total for the week. Dusenbury and Donahoe came out on Sunday by going 5-under on their front nine.
Houston’s Logan Richter and Bobby Hutcherson of Memphis grabbed solo third by finishing at 17-under 199 total for the week. The duo fired a final round 9-under 63 to vault up the leaderboard.
Three teams finished tied fourth at 16-under 200 total including the 2021 champions Gary Ezmerlian and Colby Amparan of Fort Worth. Joining them in the tie for fourth were the teams of Shayne Eddleman of Georgetown and Ryan O’Rear of Leander as well as Abilene’s Trey Todd and Austin’s Kris Devlin.
Additionally, two teams finished six back of the champions in a tie for seventh at 15-under 201 total for the tournament.
San Antonio’s Pat Youngs and Houston’s Mike Booker carded a solid final round of 6-under 66 to capture victory over the Senior Division. The duo finished at 23-under for the week and two ahead of the eventual runner-ups Bill Steen of Frisco and Chris Godspeed of Farmers Branch Youngs rolled in six birdies and Booker tallied up three of his own en route to the win on Sunday.
Odessa’s Mark Jones and Luke Groves captured solo third place by finishing at 15-under 201 total for the week.
Michael Puls of Irving and Tom Burns of Houston won the Super Senior Division after firing a final round 4-under 68 to win by seven strokes. The duo went 2-under on each nine to cruise to victory on Sunday. Finishing runner-up at 16-under 200 total was Westworth Village’s Hollis Sullivan and Midland’s Steve Whiteside. They finished two shots ahead of third place finishers Gene Aube of Rockwall and Heath’s Robert Swayze.
