Amateur Golf Podcast: Maxwell Moldovan is on the road and playing in the U.S. Open
has had an incredibly busy and fulfilling summer. He qualified for the U.S. Open which launched a stretch of golf that sent him from Ohio to Boston to three elite amateur events: The Northeast Amateur, The North & South Amateur, and the Southern Amateur. He also just won the Stark County Amateur Championship for the third time in four years . He dominated the event at his home course by 11 shots. In a practice round, Moldovan broke the course record at Prestwick Country Club with a 61, and that was after a morning round of 62.
During our discussion, Moldovan brings us into his thought process down the stretch at his U.S. Open qualifier at Springfield CC, what he learned about himself competing in a professional major championship in Boston, how he has learned to battle and keep fighting, what it was like defending his title at the Southern Am, and why he chose Ohio State to play his college golf.
