Cabot Links continues to grow its brand across the globe. This week they announced the acquisition of Castle Stuart in Scotland. The property will be renamed Cabot Highlands.

Castle Stuart is a world renowned golf course, and the crown-jewel of the purchase.

"Castle Stuart has been considered a benchmark of exceptional Scottish golf since it first opened thirteen years ago. We are honoured to be a steward of the land and carry the original vision for the property forward," said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot. "Our goal is to create unforgettable memories in magical places, and there are few places in the world more awe-inspiring than the Scottish Highlands."

At long last, Tom Doak will partner with Cabot to build a second course at Cabot Highlands. The new course will play across hillsides and open land and around the 400-year old Castle Stuart. Planning for the course will begin in fall 2022 and construction will begin in 2023 with a planned opening in 2024.

"I'm thrilled to partner with Ben Cowan-Dewar and the Cabot team," said Tom Doak, architect. "We have been searching for the perfect destination for years. Our goal is to create a distinctly Scottish golf experience that appeals to players at all levels with an authentic links-style course that puts the golf holes front and center."

In true Cabot fashion, they will make Castle Stuart a destination where golfers can stay and play these two excellent courses.

Real estate will be a key component of the community with sales expected to begin in 2023. The legacy property will feature cottages with upscale, modern touches inspired by the alluring landscape of the Scottish countryside. When homeowners are not in residence, their homes will be available as luxury accommodations for visiting guests. The Cabot Highlands property will be completed with retail, restaurants and communal gathering points.

Scotland offers a myriad of excellent golf and outdoor activities - hiking, cycling, fishing, falconry, horseback riding and more. The Cabot Highlands proximity to the Inverness airport will make this a fabulous place for any golfer from any corner of the world to visit.

We are honored to have a partnership with Cabot Links. Our AG Two Man Links Championship III on September 12-15 has had a waiting list since April. This 40-team event taps into the incredible experiences that Cabot provides it's golfers along with the spirit of competition that we value at AmateurGolf.com. Cabot Highlands is the perfect complement to Cabot's expanding portfolio of luxury developments anchored by world-class golf courses. The collection includes the award-winning Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, the Cabot Saint Lucia resort community set to open in early 2023, and Cabot Revelstoke in development in British Columbia. We also highlighted that Cabot recently announced the acquisition of its first U.S. property in Florida, soon to be known as Cabot Citrus Farms. Read about that acquisition here.
