Wake Forest commit downs Caleb Surratt on second playoff hole on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club
Tied at the end of regulation at 7-under 203, the two golfers headed back to the 18th tee box for a playoff.
Surratt set himself up beautifully for a birdie after hitting his approach shot 20 feet from the pin while McLauchlan's second shot found the left greenside bunker. for the second consecutive hole, Surratt seemed in position to complete the comeback, however, he would miss the birdie putt and tap in for par while McLauchlan successfully got up and down for his par to force a second playoff hole.
Back to the 18th tee they went.
Hitting first, Surratt's tee shot found the marsh, putting McLaughlan in the driver's seat. On the green in regulation, McLaughlan cozied his birdie putt three feet from the hole and after Surratt failed to hole his par save from long distance, McLauchlan tapped in to win one of the nation's most coveted junior championships.
