Jupiter Hills Club, located in Tequesta, Fla. is the brainchild of architects George Fazio in collaboration with businessmen William Clay Ford and William Elliott and entertainer Bob Hope. Established in 1970, the Hills Course has long been recognized as one of the country’s premier golf courses. Its distinctive design weaves through the sand dunes of southern Florida presenting unique elevation changes and spectacular vistas. It served as the host to the 1987 U. S. Amateur Championship as well as the 2018 U. S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. The club’s Village Course, also designed by George Fazio along with his nephew Tom Fazio, opened in 1979. The membership of Jupiter Hills Club is excited to host the future stars of golf through the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in 2022.
TaylorMade has been involved with the AJGA as a product supplier and partner for more than 25 years, joining as an Official Partner in 2011 and investing fully as a National Sponsor in 2016. The Official Golf Ball of the AJGA, Team TaylorMade athletes Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Matthew Wolff, Collin Morikawa, Sierra Brooks, Maria Fassi, Sung Hyun Park, and Charley Hull all have ties to the AJGA as player alumni, tournament hosts or program supporters.
The 54-hole tournament will take place May 27-30, 2022 and will launch the AJGA’s summer season of events. In 2021 the event was played at Streamsong Resort on the Blue Course. Ben James of Milford, Connecticut, took home the title shooting a 14-under-par 202. James would go on to win two more AJGA Invitationals in 2021 at The Junior PLAYERS Championship and The PING Invitational. James would be named a first team Rolex Junior All-American to end the year.
“We are so excited to bring this premier junior golf event to Jupiter Hills Club,” said AJGA Executive Director Stephen Hamblin. “The partnership we have with TaylorMade and Jupiter Hills is going to elevate this event to a new level in just its second year and we cannot wait to help promote junior golf at such a premier venue.”
The event will feature 72 of the world’s top male junior golfers. AJGA Invitationals are the highest level of competition in junior golf and regularly feature the future stars of the college and professional game. The tournament field will be filled via the Rolex AJGA Rankings with priority given to the highest-ranked players.
