University of South Dakota golfer is 11th player to win multiple Nebraska Women's Amateur titles
On a day when only six players in the championship division broke 80, Badura put together a 75 (+3) to secure an eight-stroke win with a 221 (+5) total. It's back-to-back titles for the University of South Dakota golfer, who won her first title last year by two strokes. She's the 11th player to win multiple Nebraska Women's Amateur titles.
Badura's only birdie of the day came on the par-4 12th, and it pushed her lead to eight strokes over Omaha's Kaitlyn Hanna. Hanna made birdies on Nos. 7 and 13, but it was a double-bogey on No. 10, followed by a bogey on No. 11 that kept her from catching the leader.
There was only one more blemish on Badura's card, as she bogeyed the par-4 15th. The rest were pars for Badura though, as she cruised in with a back nine 37 (+1) for the win.
Hanna finished in a tie for runner-up honors with two others at 229 (+13). She posted a final round 77 (+5), while Papillion's Sydney Taake shot a 79 (+7) to match her. Omaha Maverick golfer Mandi Granato posted the best round of the day by five strokes to also tie for runner-up honors. Granato's 70 (-2) was only the third round under-par for the championship. Hanna and Taake also tied for Low Junior honors. To think @danica_badura didn't even want to play golf at one time.
