Callaway's most popular irons on Tour have been completely redesigned - which means two things.

First, they are going to retain the great looks, feel, and workability that made them so popular. And second, the new version of the X Forged CB will have been fully vetted by the same Tour players that use them to earn a living each week.

None of this is new for Callaway. But given the "precision instrument" nature of irons, and their relatively compact size, the engineers who designed the new Callaway X Forged irons had to get inside the head to make things better.

So it was out with the single piece version -- which was still more forgiving than a regular blade due to it's cavity back design -- and in with the hollow body of the new X Forged CB.

Inside that hollow body, Callaway engineered a MIM'd tunsten weight into the lower toe portion of the club, which keeps the center of gravity lower and closer to the center of the face -- where better players tend to hit most of their shots.

And outside, a second piece of tungsten is added in the cavity, allowing Callaway to precision-fit swing weight depending on the weight of the grip, length of the club, and player preferences. (The weight has a different hex screw, and it's not planned to be changeable by the consumer, however.)

On top of the new tungsten weighting, Callaway was also able to implement a 17-4 Tour-tuned faceplate. This serves as a perfect middle ground between having no face plate (a single piece head) and the "face cup" that you will find in some of Callaway's distance irons. You get a little more "pop" and forgiveness while retaining the consistency that Tour players rely on.

The resulting clubs are gorgeous to look at, while providing the accuracy, control, and amazing feel that Tour players and club champion level amateur golfers prefer. But don't think you need a club championship title under your belt to player these irons.

According to Callaway's Vice President of Research & Development, Dr Alan Hocknell, "Even single digit handicappers will find a surprising amount of forgiveness in the new X Forged CB irons."

Now let's take a deeper look at some of the specific features and benefits.

Precise Control from Multi-Material Construction
The new X Forged CB irons are engineered with custom internal and external MIM’d tungsten weighting. The tungsten in the toe aligns the CG precisely behind the middle of the club, while the external tungsten allows Callaway to precisely dial in swingweight while keeping the CG centered.

Signature Soft Feel
The X Forged CB provides incredibly soft feel from a forged 1025 mild carbon steel body.

Spin and Distance Consistency
Callaway X Forged CB's Tour Tuned Face Plate creates fast ball speed while promoting consistent spin rates across the face. This provides the distance control that better players want to see from their irons.

Player’s Shaping
The blade length, topline and offset are all designed to promote pinpoint shot-making and more workability through the set.

Premium Components
For steel shaft players, the Project X IO is individually optimized for each iron in the set. And on the graphite side, the Mitsubishi MMT is a player’s graphite shaft with metal mesh in the tip for stability. Both versions come with Golf Pride’s Z Grip, which features a firm feel and exceptional traction.

Price and Availability
The X Forged UT irons will be available for preorder on 10/22 and at retail on 10/29/20 at a price of $200 per stick – steel or graphite.
