REVIEW: A golf bag for casual rounds from Sunday Golf

Here's the problem with lightweight golf bags (sometimes referred to as "Sunday" bags).

They are usually just smaller, floppy versions of the real thing, in some respects less user friendly than a regular golf bag.

For example, I have a gorgeous leather bag I'll use sometimes, that fits a full 14 clubs. But with two huge pockets, it's actually harder to store and find stuff than my regular golf bag. And it really isn't much lighter.

So when I play a short nine hole course, or am heading to the range, I usually just take clubs out of my regular bag and go out with it. But I was immediately intrigued when I found out that some San Diego golfers -- regulars at the fun "Loma Club" short course -- were in the process of designing a club perfect for those casual rounds.

It's designed for the purpose, not dumbed down. That's the difference.

Dubbed appropriately the "Loma" from Sunday Golf, it's shorter than a regular bag by a few inches (because whey not) and has a rugged rubber handle for easily picking it up instead of always strapping up.

It's waterproof, comes in several attractive colorways, and has the perfect pockets for your valuables, golf balls, cell phone, and a couple of cold beverages. (And the beverage pocket is front and center where it should be.)

Outside there is velcro so you can air out your glove and have it at the ready. The Loma has a stand too.

It's perfect for throwing 4-8 clubs in, and heading to the range, the course, or anywhere in between.

Lightweight bags are popular in golf-crazy countries like Japan and Korea, and I have no doubt that Sunday Golf is going to be successful. It's priced right at $114.95 - order at the link below.
