Alex Prugh of Spokane, WA and Bart Patitucci of Othello, WA sit atop the leader board after the first 36-holes
The Links at Moses Pointe, 7278 yards, Par 72 - Moses Lake, Washington
– Alex Prugh of Spokane, WA and Bart Patitucci of Othello, WA sit atop
the leader board after the first 36-holes of the WSGA Men’s State
Amateur Championship. Prugh got to 5-under par 139 with consistent play in
the first two rounds. Despite a bogie on his last hole, he bettered
his score from the first round by one stroke with a 69. Patitucci had
the round of the tournament thus far with a 4-under par 68 in the second
round. With four birdies, he rallied on the back with a 3-under par
33.
A 36-hole cut at 12-over par 156 leaves 60 players still competing for
the championship with two rounds still to play. The two leaders have a
comfortable lead of four strokes going into the third round.
Yesterday’s co-leader Zach Bixler of Richland, WA is joined with Josh Immordino
of Auburn, WA at 1-under par 143.
The championship calls for 72 holes of gross stroke play, with the
starting field of 134 being cut to the lowest 60 scorers and ties after 36
holes. The championship trophy will be awarded to the low gross player
of the field. Action commences on Friday, June 24 with the low 60
players of the field starting from the #1 tee beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Spectators are welcome.
