In the Championship Division,
Jackson Rivera posted a 3-under 69 to take the first-round lead in the 2020 Yorba Linda City Championship at Black Gold Golf Club on Saturday. Rivera, from Rancho Santa Fe, California, is coming off a win just a few weeks ago at the Rancho Santa Margarita Amateur after surviving a late afternoon sudden-death playoff. Conditions were excellent for scoring at Black Gold Golf Club with Rivera rolling in six birdies en route to his 69. Sitting just one shot behind Rivera in a tie for second at 2-under are Dean Netzel, Jack Solis, and Raymond Kim.
In the Senior Championship Division, Jeff Peterson has a three-shot lead despite an unfortunate double-bogey on the final hole. Peterson shot a 3-over-par 75 and with Anthony Ventura and Ron Kaehn both sitting at 6-over-par.
