Carlsbad, California's Honma House offers a perfect combination of nostalgia and modern club fitting in a gorgeous setting
Leave it to Honma -- a 60 year old company with a rich craftsman heritage -- to turn the ground floor of their new California office into a golf museum. They did that - and it's called "Honma House."
We toured Honma House -- located an easy stop off the 5 freeway in Carlsbad, California -- at the beginning of 2020. We were really impressed with the way that Honma has established a museum of the company's rich history, alongside the most advanced fitting technology available.
So you can visit Honma House during their retail hours, and enjoy learning about the history of a company founded by two brothers named Honma at a Japanese driving range in 1959. It would be worth a stop by just to visit the museum.
But once you see the setup that Justin Rose is using, you might (like me) go from nostalgic to "wow, this equipment looks incredible!" The driver, of course, is beautiful. And the irons that he's using are a perfect blend of craftsmanship and technology. The experience of visiting Honma House? We recommend it to any golfer who is in the San Diego area, whether you're in the market for any new equipment or not.
