Two amateurs are still in contention for one of five full-time exempt spots for the 2020 season after 36 holes of PGA Tour Champions qualifying at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.

Local amateur Bryan Hoops, long one of the better mid-amateurs in the Southwest and winner of many Arizona Golf Association championships, is at even par and six shots off the fifth spot after rounds of 72-70.

The other amateur in the 78-player field is Euan McIntosh of Scotland, winner of last year's Scottish Amateur, is at 2-under with rounds of 69-71.

The leader at the midway point is Stephen Leaney of Australia at 11 under par.
