NCGA makes it two in a row at the Staedler-Jetter Cup Matches

The NCGA made it two in a row, rolling to a 16.5-11.5 victory. Following early victories by Tony Padilla (2 and 1) and Mike Rowley (5 and 4), the NCGA went on a tear, winning six straight matches to seal the deal.
The other winners for the NCGA were Ron Johnson (3 and 2), Frank Pieper (3 and 2), Corey West (3 and 2), Mark Morgan (3 and 1), Jeff Burda (1-up) and Chuck Richesin (4 and 3). Also notching a late win was Casey Boyns (5 and 4).
“It’s a nice win for us,” said NCGA captain Michael Weeks. “It was a great bunch of guys with great camaraderie. It was an honor to be their captain.”
The NCPGA got wins from John Grund (2 and 1), Steve Pellegrine (3 and 2) and Shawn McEntee (3 and 2).
The NCPGA has won the Staedler-Jetter Cup six of the last eight years.The NCGA leads in the overall Staedler-Jetter Cup series, 16-10-3.

The Staedler-Jetter Cup features 14 amateur players
ages 55-over (10 Seniors and four Super Seniors)
representing the NCGA (top players from the
previous season’s points list) taking on 14
professional players ages 55-over representing the
Northern California PGA in a Ryder Cup-like format.
The first day of play consists of two rounds—one
round of four-ball match play (better ball) and one
round of foursome match play (alternate shot). The
second day of play’s final rounds consist of singles
match play.
