Walter Todd topped the field after three rounds at the Senior Azalea, defeating Ken Kinkopf by three shots to take home the title. Todd finished 54 holes at the Country Club of Charleston, site of this summer’s U.S. Women’s Open, with a 4-under total.
Todd logged rounds of 68-72-69 to set the pace. A closing 69 included an eagle at the par-4 13th.
It was no small feat for Todd to hold off Kinkopf, who has garnered his share of senior wins over the past calendar year. Kinkopf is the top-ranked player in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings. He finished second at 1 under.
Todd Hendley was solo third at even par, while Brady Exber and Geno Berchiatti shared fourth at 1 over.
In the super senior division, John Dennis topped the leaderboard with his even-par total. Neil Spitalny was three shots back in second.
