Spencer Levin To Turn Pro, Signs with MacGregor
Albany, Ga. - Spencer Levin, the nation's second-ranked golfer and top amateur finisher in the 2004 U.S. Open, will join the professional ranks and become a member of the MacGregor Golf Tour Staff beginning with the 2005 U.S. Open, June 13-19 at Pinehurst Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C., Levin and MacGregor announced today.
Levin, from Elk Grove, Calif., completed one of the best summers in the history of amateur golf in 2004. He finished tied for 13th at the U.S. Open - the best finish by an amateur in 33 years. Levin also won the California State Amateur, Porter Cup and Scratch Players Championship, the latter by a staggering 10 shots.

"Turning pro is something I have been dreaming about for years," said Levin, who celebrates his 21st birthday the day before the U. S. Open gets underway. "I want equipment that will help me play to the best of my abilities. From the first day I hit MacGregor's MACTEC driver and their forged irons, I knew these were the clubs I wanted to go pro with."
Levin will play a MACTEC NVG driver and 3-wood, M675 forged irons with SPEED Technology and is working with Bobby Grace to be custom-fit for a M-series putter.
Levin joins legendary Greg Norman, two-time Master's Champion Jose Maria Olazabal and two-time Australian Open Champion Aaron Baddeley on MacGregor's Tour Staff.
