Alex Woodward of Austin leads the Texas South Mid-Amateur presented by Impact Precision Golf by two strokes after 36 holes. Woodward had three birdies and two bogeys on Saturday to card a 1-under 71. After an even-par 72 in Friday’s opening round, Woodward moved to 1-under 143 overall with Sunday’s final round looming.

Five players are within four shots of the clubhouse leader entering the final 18. Within two shots of Woodward and tied for second are Kurtis Lilley of Cypress and Broc Haymon of Pearland.

Both Lilley and Haymon posted opening rounds of 1-under 71. They each shot 2-over 74 on Saturday. Kevin Liberto of Cypress, Devin Young of Austin and Will Griffin of Austin are in a tie for fourth place after two rounds with a tournament total of 3-over 147. The three sit two shots back of second, and four shots back of the leader.

Haymon may have some extra incentive for a final-round push. He has won this event the past two years.
