LPGA NW Arkansas Champ: Stacy Lewis wins 1st
ROGERS, Ark. (Sept. 9, 2007)-- It probably wasn't what Stacy Lewis imagined her first LPGA victory would look like, but she is sure to take it anyway.
Lewis, who ran away with last year's amateurgolf.com-Bridgestone Golf Player Rankings women's title, shot a course-record 65 at the Pinnacle Country Club.
The final rounds were wiped out due to inclement, and the event was not counted as an official LPGA event.
"Yesterday was just a roller coaster of emotions going from playing my best competitive round ever, and then to kind of feel like a knife in your heart" said Lewis after learning the tournament wouldn't be finished. "You don't get a chance to win. But it was a great week, it was a great experience, and I'll never take it away. I'll always have it."
