Matheus Jung Park and Emilie Ricaud ended up on top at Doral Resort
MIAMI, Fla. (Dec. 23, 2018) – Matheus Jung Park prevailed in the oldest division of the Doral Publix Junior on Sunday. Park, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, finished regulation tied with Tomas Acotto, but ultimately won the title.
Park put together rounds of 72-71 at Doral Resort’s Blue Monster to finish at 1 under. He had four birdies on the back nine on Sunday.
Acotto, meanwhile, had rounds of 70-73. The Argentinian had too many big numbers on his card in Round 2.
In the girls 16-18 division, Emilie Ricaud of New Caledonia earned a five-shot victory with rounds of 73-71 at the Red Tiger course. Ricaud was even par after two days in which she never made higher than a bogey. Ana Pao Bres of Mexico was second at 5 over and Nina Lang of Germany was third at 9 over.
In the boys 14 & 15 division, Kiko Francisco Coelho had rounds of 71-70 at the Golden Palm course to win the title at 1 under. He was two shots ahead of runner-up Felix Bouchard.
Ellen Dong finished as the top player in the girls 14 & 15 division. The Beijing, China native finished regulation at 1 under on the Red Tiger course, tied with Russia’s Nataliya Guseva but prevailed for the title.
