Columbia Country Club takes the Lathrop Cup

Eddie Hargett, Brad Krapfel, and Walter Odiorne team with club professional Chris Sparrow to win the unique team event

GREER, S.C. (November 20, 2018) - The team representing Columbia Country Club combined to shoot a total of 222 to win the 2018 edition of the SCGA’s Lathrop Cup. Columbia Country Club was represented by professional Chris Sparrow and amateurs Eddie Hargett, Brad Krapfel, and Walter Odiorne. Forest Lake Club represented by John Winterhalter, Bob Edens, Tim Babb, and Joseph Horne finished in second place with a 226 total. In the Pro-Am portion of the event, Professional Rohan Allwood led his Mid Carolina Club team to victory with a final score of 131. The 2018 SCGA Lathrop Cup was played on the par 71 - 6,175 yard Thornblade Club in Greer, SC. The field consisted of 22 teams playing in both the Lathrop Cup and the Lathrop Cup Pro-Am. The Lathrop Cup is comprised of three amateurs over the age of 55 from the same club using the aggregate of their three scores to determine the Senior Club Championship of South Carolina. The Pro-Am portion of the event uses the best two balls of the group, including the club professional. The Lathrop Cup is named after long time SCGA Executive Director Happ Lathrop.
