Sue Wooster moved to the top of the leaderboard with a 1-over 73 at Pinehurst No. 2
Wooster had 1-over 73 on Pinehurst No. 2, and is 1 over for the tournament. It was a relatively uneventful second round with two bogeys, a birdie and the rest pars. The Australian won the 2017 Canadian Women’s Senior in a playoff almost exactly a year ago. She won this event in 2014.
Lara Tennant is in solo third after back-to-back rounds of 4-over 76. Ellen Port, the seven-time USGA champion, is right behind her after a round of 6-over 78 that included just one birdie. Port and Susan West are tied for fourth at 9 over. West opened with 72, but backed up to 81 on Tuesday. She ended with a birdie on the final hole.
Susan Beaupied leads the super senior division at 8 over. Beaupied had 79 at Pinehurst No. 2 on Tuesday despite a double-bogey 8 at No. 18.
