amateurgolf.com San Diego County Am: Day 1
FALLBROOK, Calif. (July 16, 2007)-- The amateurgolf.com San Diego County Amateur is still anyone's tournament, with eight players at par or better.
Duke sophomore Brian Lee and UC-Berkley junior Erick Thorson lead the pack after shooting 2-under-par 70 at The Country Club of California.
"The back nine I shot great," said Kim. "I hit every birdie I had an opportunity to make, and I had good luck on a couple of holes."
For Thorson, it was the putter that made the difference.
"I made three twenty-footers for birdie," he said. "I think tomorrow I'll change my club selection on a few holes. This is the first time I've played this course, so tomorrow I can be a little more aggressive."
Also under par was Poway's Adam Porzak and a pair of Philippines national players, Anthony Fernando and Michael Eric Bibat.
