(August 14, 2017) - For the first time since the 1990's Texas can lay claim to the U.S. Women's Amateur winner. Playing at San Diego Country Club Sophia Schubert emerged after a grueling week with a 6&5 victory in the title match.
In regional action Missouri State teammates Kory Franks and Brad Carpenter birdied the last six holes to claim the Missouri Four-Ball title.
At the Southern California Public Links Brandon Mai rallied on the final day and then defeated 36-hole leader and 1996 U.S. Public Links champion Tim Hogarth on the second playoff hole.
On Friday at the Indiana Mid-Amateur Keith Blythe won the title with a heavy heart.
Across the pond Euan McIntosh put together some stellar golf as won the Levin Links and the oldest individual medal award in amateur golf, the Leven Gold Medal.
At the British Senior Amateur Englishman Bryan Hughes won the title and broke a string of seven consecutive American triumphs.
