AUGUSTA, GA (July 13, 2017) - Will Rogers of Evans goes low in round one to lead the Georgia Amateur Championship at 5-under-par 66. The 96th edition of the state championship is taking place at West Lake Country Club, July 13-16.
The 31-year-old Rogers finished the opening round one better than three players who finished at 4-under-par 67, including Chris Waters of Atlanta, Jared O'Kelley of Canton and Tre Lamb of Macon.
David Noll, Jr., of Dalton, a two-time Georgia Amateur champion, posted a 3-under-par 68 on Thursday. After 18 holes, 20 players finished in red numbers.
West Lake Country Club is playing to 6,816 yards and a par of 71.

A field of 144 of the state's best will compete
over 72 holes of stroke play with the field cut to
the low 70 and ties after 36 holes.
